Hector Guimard

Hector Guimard was born in Lyon, March 10, 1867 and died in New York, May 20, 1942. He was an architect best knowing for the French Art Nouveau style of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. His name is known to a broader public only because of his fanciful entrances to the Paris Metro. His style featured wrought iron, bronze and glass. Many of which are still standing today.
