Frank Gehry

Frank Gehry was born February 28, 1929. He is a canadian American Pritzker Prize winning architect based in Los Angeles, California. His buildings, including his private residence, have become tourist attractions. His works are amongst the most important of contemporary architecture. Gehry's best-known works include the titanium-covered Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain; MIT Stata Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts; Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles; Experience Music Project in Seattle; Weisman Art Museum in Minneapolis; Dancing House in Prague; the Vitra Design Museum and MARTa Museum in Germany; the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto; the Cinémathèque française in Paris; and 8 Spruce Street in New York City. 

Colin Booth

At the Laing Art Gallery, Colin Booth held an exhibition called the Institute of play. It was thousands of blocks resembling a miniature cityscape and reveals how simple geometric objects and shapes. Personally I found his exhibition not inspiring as it was just blocks and nothing else. 

Herringtongate Furniture

Herringtongate Furniture were inspired by a mixture of design heroes from the past, and the infinite influences of 21st century creativity. With almost 20 years in the business of creating high quality bespoke interiors, they have come from a range of quarters: the streets of whitehall, a Spanish island hillside, a contemporary mansion in the north east of England to just name a few. So I'm back at college now.

This year, I'm going to try my hardest, push myself to do extra well. We get an opportunity to go on a work placement. Which I'm very excited for. So this is another reason why I need to work very hard.

We have had a few presentations on different business's around the north east to get a rough idea of where we would like to go for work placement.

I have decided that I would like to go to a business of Interior and Furniture design.

My plan would be to work within a company for a couple of years till I have enough money for my own business.
